An r/place alternative that's open every day

Reddit's r/place only ran for a few days at a time, in 2017, 2022 and 2023. Everyone Draw is a free, shared pixel canvas you can draw on any day of the year, with no Reddit account and no sign-up.

Place pixels next to people from around the world on an infinite canvas, in your browser or in the iOS and Android apps. It has been running since 2021.

585 million+ pixels drawn by 560,000+ artists since 2021.

Everyone Draw vs. r/place

r/place was Reddit's April Fools' Day experiment: one shared canvas, open for a few days, where every Reddit user could place pixels. Everyone Draw is built on the same idea, but it never closes. Here's how they compare.

What r/place does better

  • Scale. More than 10 million people placed pixels during r/place 2022. Everyone Draw's community is much smaller, so the canvas fills in more slowly and big projects take patience.
  • A shared moment. For a few days, huge parts of Reddit showed up at once and whole subreddits organized around the canvas. Everyone Draw has no countdown and no finale.
  • A finished artwork. Each r/place ended with a final image everyone can look back on. Everyone Draw keeps changing, so to keep a record of a drawing, make a timelapse in the app or take a screenshot.

Will r/place come back?

Nobody outside Reddit knows. Here is what we could find as of October 2026:

  • Reddit has run r/place three times: from April 1 to 3, 2017; in April 2022; and from July 20 to 25, 2023.
  • The 2022 return came after a five-year break and was announced on March 28, 2022, only four days before it started.
  • We found no announcement of a new r/place since 2023. Wikipedia lists the project as dormant, and Reddit's April Fools' Day event in 2025 was a different game called Field.

Past editions were announced only days ahead, so a new one could appear with little warning. In the meantime, Everyone Draw is open every day, and you don't need to wait for an event to draw with strangers.

What you get on Everyone Draw

  • No account needed

Open the website or the app and start placing pixels. You only sign in (with Google, or with Apple in the iOS app) to save bookmarks or make timelapses.

  • An infinite canvas

The canvas keeps going in every direction. The busiest area is around (0, 0). Tap New drawing to jump to an empty spot far away from everyone else.

  • 32 colors

The app has 32 colors: a classic 16-color palette plus 16 extra shades. The website has the 16 classic colors. Every color is free.

  • Native iOS and Android apps

Real apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, built for touch, with all 32 colors.

  • Active moderation

Anyone can report an area. Volunteer moderators remove rule-breaking art by reverting it, and ban the people who drew it.

  • Timelapses

Sign in to the app to turn an area into a timelapse video, up to 10 a day. Community timelapses are on YouTube.

Tips for r/place players

  • Start near (0, 0) to draw where most people are, or use New drawing to jump to a quiet spot of your own.
  • Every spot on the canvas has its own link, so you can send your friends straight to your drawing.
  • Look for group projects and find people to draw with on the Everyone Draw Discord.
  • Read the rules in the app first. Among other things, nudity, hate symbols, attacks on groups, violence, obscene language and bots aren't allowed.
